What is the best country to live?

im just basing it off of the last time i was there which was 3 years ago and i found athens to be kinda depressing but maybe my opinion will change when i go again. also i know how to read greek but it takes me a while and if i have a job there then i will prolly have to read stuff in greek and i don't really wanna do that tbh

Obviously I will not mention countries with internal problems like war and so on. I think that anyone would move to Yemen for example unless you work as a doctor, nurse ... without borders. It depends on what you want for your life. There are countries that would benefit me more professionally than Brazil. Because they generally need skilled labor such as Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

But 4 things catch my attention in a country: food, people, bio-diversity and of course the cost of living. As a biologist and history lover, I have a personal list of places that I would like to live, even if it was temporarily. Like Peru, New Zealand, Argentina...

And what do you see as special about Spain that interests you so much according to your opinion?

Yes, but if someone is wondering wether to move to other country and one of his main concerns is about defending your house with arms...when in reality you are not going to need the arms since there are no (almost negligible) assaults or roberies or murders (in 90% of the cities or villages), then it is a bit absurd.

And the real reason you need the arms is precissely that you once gave them to most of your population, including those that have a small prefrontal cortex (impulsive people from Africa) that have no problem in using them at any moment. If zero people had arms in the USA you can bet that the amount of murders, roberies, and everything will be much lower since even with those with small prefrontal cortex will not be able to get arms, so the probability that they use it against you is low. Nobody assault a house with a knive. So, if you let them use semiautomatic arms then you have scalated the issue and now all the people need to use them to protect from the bad ones.

Anyways, if I were in the USA I would also be supportive of the right to have arms to protect myself and my family. I totally understand you. But here, unless you live in "multicultural" or gypsy neighbourhoods, you are 99.99% safe. With massive inmigration, crime is skyrocketing but since they can´t own arms we see less murders (or most murders are done with non-fire arms).

And 40-50% of Spaniards (specially in rural áreas) have hunting arms, which are very controlated by the state, but although they are used to hunting, they can also be used to protect your house and to feel safer at home. That is what most people do.

Actually I did forget the most important thing about legal status for carrying guns. Political stability. Any authoritarian government can easily dominate its own population when removing people's guns, therefore protests are much more easily to be controlled by their national forces when monopolizing guns for the State only.

In Americas, the most gun ownership per capita is indeed USA, followed by Canada and then Uruguay.

idk i just like it lol plus i can speak Spanish pretty well. i just really dont want to stay in America and i love the Mediterranean way of life

Any authoritarian government can easily dominate its own population when removing people's guns, therefore protests are much more easily to be controlled by their national forces when monopolizing guns for the State only.

In Americas, the most gun ownership per capita is indeed USA, followed by Canada and then Uruguay.

Exactly for this reason it is very convenient for dictatorships to disarm the population since if the people decide to rebel against the government they would have it easier to control without the armed population.

Also telling you that not all of Spain is "Med" and this is also good since we can benefit from different weathers, culture, foods in just 4 hours in car.

1 million of non Euro immigrants would mean 25% of Madrid is immigrant. First, that is not true, second, NO WAY ALL THE FOREIGNERS ARE NON EURO.

Agreed that Madrid would be the last place to migrate. Well, the second after Barcelona.
