Don't listen to old uni professors, unless you really love the discipline and are about to become the next prodigy. That friend of mine is struggling to get temporary contracts every year and he's really considered one of the best. Judge for yourself if it's worth the effort. That being said if you plan to live in america things could be different but I mean still, it's very academic as a field of study and won't land you any high-paying jobs in the private sector.

You are right. Anthropology is still on an embryonic stage and doesn't get so much recognition yet, outside of academia. Yeah I wouldn't bet on building anthropology career in Greece but it's kinda plausible for the US. Big businesses usually hire anthropologists for target marketing....but then again sociologists, psychologists , and even social engineers could offer even more on the table.

    Meh...We'll see

I have my bachelors of science in Psychology. Right now I’m taking a couple of free courses in genetics just for learning sake.

If you pursue it enough, you'll have huge success. Passion is what matters. Remember the 2017 Nature Magazine study for example? It was directed by the Greek geneticists/anthropologists Ioannis Lazaridis and Georgios Stamatoyannopoulos. And they have a successful career here

Yeah, you'll tell me: it's not nearly as easy as getting a job with a political science and public administration degree, but it's worth it. If I had the needed knowledge, I'd pursue it.
