If the Spanish president, WITH ALL THE PROBLEMS WE HAVE HERE, went to Lebanon like Macron has done, promising el oro y el moro as we say in Spain (the gold and the Moor), ie millions and millions of euros, for sure he would be criticized fiercely.

Politicians should only serve the interests of the native populace of said country, not the interests of aliens and foreigners regardless of nationality, race, ethnicity and so on. The US should take several notes on that rather than being Israel's #1 prostitute to the world for example at the expense of the White/European American majority populace that had founded American in the first place.

A Maronite state would not fit Israeli interests, since bombing and killing Christians in any future Israeli leap forward for Greater Israel would be more difficult task than bombing West Bank or Gaza and would cause ire of Western countries.

Maronites have already French passports and all immigrate to France, Americas, Brazil and to other Catholic countries. Otherwise Lebanon was meant to be a Maronite Christian country originally and became minority because of migrations.

Greek Orthodox Levantines are barely 5%, if not even lesser, though.

France has a colonial past in Lebanon, a better equivalent would be the Spanish prime minister running in Mexico or Colombia to spends billions and plan a military intervention, which would be perceived as insane.

Some Islamists from Turkey strive to learn Arabic and when they meet Tunisians or Algerians, they try to communicate in Arabic with them. Yet they are quite disappointed to see that Maghrebis can't really speak Arabic but are fluent in French.
I guess that it is not so different in Lebanon. A majority of people should be fluent French speakers.

I dont think this is true, most Maghrebis understand Arabic and can speak it good enough for normal conversations. The Lebanese welcomed Macron as a hero because the Lebanese are desperate as their country is officially bankrupted and their economy is fucked from top to bottom, desperate situations ask for desperate moves Today the Turkish minister was also welcomed as hero in Beirut, people were literally chanting: "With our blood and soul we'll defend Erdogan." Like I said, the Lebanese are desperate and want someone to fix their country, if even an outsider is able or willing to do that they'll accept it. If I would be Lebanese I would probably think the same.
