Every creature has a soul in my opinion. Regardless of religion or scientific proofs.

The only creatures without a soul are the chinks and the japs.

Animals and humans are souls when humans are dominant as shown in Genesis (unlike beasts, god created man in his image). Animals cannot qualify for heaven and they return to earth since they cannot follow the way of the lord but they are not to be mistreated as they are still god's creation.

I'm really sorry that I have been harsh with you. I need to improve my self-control.
It's just that I just saw so much despise towards women on this site, although I don't recognise myself in the way several men depict them here. I had the feeling I'm not taken seriously. But maybe it's just a feeling I have and it doesn't reflect the reality...

What is your opinion? Would it be reasonable to interpret the Christian scriptures in a more animal-friendly way (including concerning the New Testament episode of the Gerasene/Gadarene porks, which is I think the only passage from the Bible that really troubles me).

Anyway, this is what the Catechism of the Catholic Church currently says on animals: “2416 Animals are God's creatures. He surrounds them with his providential care. By their mere existence they bless him and give him glory. Thus men owe them kindness. We should recall the gentleness with which saints like St. Francis of Assisi or St. Philip Neri treated animals.”
IMO "soul"is the concept for explain our complex nervous system being human the most complex.

Catholic logos in its thinking have the notion of free will(liberty), you can't be liber without be responsable (latín «respōnsum»). Responsible meant as supine of "responding", which means "responding" in the sense of "committing oneself", of "committing oneself to something." The term "responsabilidad"(from spanish) has been suffixed with "dad", which gives the meaning of "quality of", that is, "quality of responsible".

You go heaven (in a few words) if you lived a responsable life. Most of not-human animals on Earth are unable for give a "quality response" that suits on our Mundum (Humans World).

It's challenging explain GrecoRomans ideas in a barbaric language like my bad english.
