I don't really believe souls exist, so I'd say no. But if humans have a soul, then animals should also have one.

Souls exist dude. When you die, energy is transferred. That energy is the soul. Animal souls only exist in this realm at least according to Abrahamic faiths. However human souls can go to heaven or hell. Though some traditions believe that the soul can be reborn into a different plant, animal or human like the eastern tradition. You go heaven (in a few words) if you lived a responsable life. Most of not-human animals on Earth are unable for give a "quality response" that suits on our Mundum (Humans World).

I think they should be updated and the possibility should be officially left for all animals to go to heaven, as we now know much more about them. It is established that they are not without reason, intelligence and there is still a lot to discover about them.

I don't care much about animal lives (sorry if it sounds harsh). One could argue pet lives matter more than pig and cow lives as pets show affection for humans.
Humans have always been eating animal protein and I consider it to be a part of healthy human diet. Chimpanzees -who we are genetically closest to- also consume some animal protein, maybe not as much as humans though. So i don't see problem with eating animals, it's totally natural imo. I don't eat huge amount of animal protein myself, I eat it with moderation because that's what I consider healthy.
The bottom line is -in my opinion- we shouldn't worry about animal souls.

Immortal, imo any animal/creature that is capable of feeling love has a soul.
From a scientific point of view there is no scientific/know reason that causes neurons to fire and make a body of flesh "alive" (had interesting convos with a mate studying neurochemistry).

I mean the nervous system is the matrix who coordinates our "senses" that give us the perspective of how we understand life. Those understandings are thougths, we can call them ideas. Ideas, perceptions... are immatirial notions, they are part of the "Sensible World" = "World of Ideas"

Having a Soul and go to the catholic heaven are different matters. I was trying to explain the logic of your former reply.

I guess they go to another heaven with easterns and such bc you know catholic heaven is the greatest above all. Better cuisine, arts, fountains, dance, chics(meds+SEAmerica), social life, sense of humor and the sun is brighter too.

The law of conservation of energy states that the total energy of an isolated system remains constant; it is said to be conserved over time. Universe is an isolated system. That means you believe that heaven and hell are inside our universe, correct?

I don’t think you will find the answer of such things here or anywhere. People should accept there are matters we don’t know or understand, at least just yet.

The craving for answers and fear of the unknown has always been so big that people have made things up in order to explain such matters.
