However, I have yet to see a smart man with a stupid mother. I will keep paying close attention.
Also, the study shows that the intelligence of the mother is highly important, as barely any or even none of the children have reached the IQ of their fathers.
It's not that IQ is solely inherited by the mother, but the mother has a larger influence on the intelligence of the child than the father.
The data of the study is also very vague-there are no exact values, only estimates. We don't know the average IQ of these men and women, only their range, which is insignificant.
We would need to see a study with the exact opposite - smart mothers and dumb fathers - and their exact IQ instead of a vague range - and then we might come to a proper conclusion.
If the mean IQ of that group of children would be only moderately higher, which I think would be the case, that'd prove both Schopenhauers and Platos theories.
