I still can't get rid of only Skype. My father and I sometimes buy alcohol, prepare food and consume it while looking at each other through the webcam, discussing all sorts of news along the way

Plus, my wife's PC still has Windows 7, but she actively uses Photoshop and a couple of Win-only programs (a mixture of hobbies and a way of earning money). And she plays sometimes.

Plus, my wife's PC still has Windows 7, but she actively uses Photoshop and a couple of Win-only programs (a mixture of hobbies and a way of earning money). And she plays sometimes.

I used to use Slackware at home (for a very long time), and even on one relatively important server. But now I (and Patrick, too) got old and lazy, and switched to Fedora.

Thankfully, I use Viber on my phone for the better half. Plus, I have been looking into Wickr lately.

Linux is how I imagined PC OS's should be. Microsoft is bloated, outdated and just a fucking mess, even excel is dated af, they can't even improve a 25 year old software. The last good Windows was XP, even then it was clunky and the service packs were iffy and could basically force your ass to reinstall windows if something went wrong.

Microsoft has always had some kind of problem with the update service. It is essentially a lottery game.
I would carefully call Win 7 the last successful system, but to calm the soul, you need to uninstall / not install about 10 updates containing telemetry functions. This cannot be done in later versions.

I don't think I ever had 7, but if I remember they at least had the regular windows search functions, I don't think 10 has it anymore.

I tested Win 10 only in a virtual machine, and to put it mildly, I am not happy with its redundancy and excessive independence. Only the server version can be made comfortable, but many drivers do not work with it and it has an increased priority for hacker attacks.
So we are always trying to postpone our acquaintance with Win 10 on bare metal as long as possible
