Irish are not WASPs and neither are Germans. You can't always go by names alone though as there anglo-Irish (English ) protestants and Scots from Ireland. The real Irish are Catholic and so are some Germans. For instance, Edmund Burke (Irish last name) was a anglo-Irish British Philosopher whose last name was not Lumley or Smith.

The lower classes in America think class is based on income, the middle classes think income has something to do with it but the job you do and the type of education you have is equally important. The upper classes know every college degree except Harvard or Yale are trash and that style, ideas and taste confer class regardless of how much money you have or educational level you have achieved.
