I do not find them to have a particularly distinct look even though local, mostly rural population of the region has certain elements in their DNA that certainly makes them such (I've even read about one genetic syndrome that is virtually only found among them). Apparently when it comes to genetics they can be roughlu modelled as 25-30% Norwegian-like (Goths?) ~ 70%-75% Belarusian-like. They speak a highly divergent dialect, or a separate language called Kashubian / Kaszubski / Kaszëbsczi jãzëk that is spoken by 108 thousands of inhabitants. There are bilingual boards with the names of localities.
