Those cities are not so far, since they are very diverse and concentrate a lot of immigrants from other states but I would say, Rio is more african influenced and less amerindian than the country and Sao Paulo is a bit more european influenced. But yes, they are not so far, its probably some marginal difference of 5%.

I dont know if you guys know Goiás state, but its probably the most average area. DF also is a good example with lots of Northeasterns and Southeasterns.

Also the under 60% euro group is only around 30% percent of the people tested.
Brazil has 65% EUR, 15% NAM and 20% AFR, but it is not evenly distributed. North most of the mestizo population, Northeast are tri-racial. Rio de Janeiro is white/mulatto basically, NAM is dispersed among whites and mulattos is not visible in many cases.

When I had been in Rio I felt like it was another Johannesburg, the south part of the city (Ipanema, Leblon, Copacabana, Botafogo) are usually of Iberian stock while the north part of the city is full of negroes and purely african brazilian individuals, workers in south part of the city were negroes from the north tho, the city is obviously majority black I really doubt these genetic institutes would go in their worst favelas where they are unable to know even how many people live there

47% they are self-declared "whites" (some SSA "harnizos") . It is not similar to Johannesburg, It would be like Havana Cuba or even DR

Well, unfortunately for most of you who have never been to Rio, I know that city well. If the west region were nice and mostly populated by Portuguese, then Rio would be another Lisboa which isn't the case

The west region represents 60 to 70% of the entire city and average carioca who lives there are usually low/low-middle class brazilians, so neighborhoods like Barra de Tijuca isn't representative for their region, so let alone the city.

But I know Barra da Tijuca, my impression is that this is a pretty big area with many condomiuns and houses, despite being considerably far from other areas of Rio its in my opinion one of the best parts of the city and certainly with many habitants. Also, I dont believe most poor cariocas are black, trirracials seems to be more important despite the important black presence in the city only behind few areas like Salvador.

The Brazilian census is not incorrect, just a few "Harnizos" who self-declare themselves by skin color incorrectly.
Probably about 30% of Rio de Janeiro would be white, the rest would be African browns (they are quite dominant in the phenotype unlike the NAM). This genetic study must be correct.

Public school (many must be 50% euro or more):
