Pretty interesting idea for an experiment but it's a tiny sample size and it happened in the biggest cities of each country (which are full of foreigners). So nothing conclusive really.

A consistent trend is though is that generally southern countries were less likely to return the wallet. The only exception is India (being the only non-Western/European country on this map).

I was waiting for something like that tho, I am only surprised by Zurich, I mean they have guns over there. Amongst these 16 cities, London is much likely that with most immigrants, even so they tied with Warsaw where I doubt they have many immigrants, not only that, they are above Bucharest and Prague in Eastern Europe.

It seems Michael Bloomberg did a handsome work in NYC, I remember well when that city used to be famous for its mafias and gangs all over Brooklin and Bronx mainly

I remember reading about a study exactly like that and Switzerland was the highest with 80% returned and China was the lowest with 20% returned. China isn't even on the list here, so it must have been a different study.

I guess rate of poverty and also homelessness per city should be take into consideration but it is not? Think about it you are a homeless man in New York city there is a blizzard in December you have been starving for a few days at least so -- you are walking down Times Square , in Manhattan, to eat some food out of garbage cans that the Tourists have half eaten and discard into the garbage cans or on the street. When all of a sudden you notice a Wallet on the ground ? You pick it up and ask it if is the lady next to you husband's wallet ? She says "nope" then reality sets in ! You open it up and it is full of Japanese yen and there various Japanese credit cards.

The homeless proceeds to irrational justify it " The asshole is not a New York and the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor" ! Because, New Yorkers are elitsits and don't like people not from New York.

There is story to every found wallet.

Isn't Switzerland very rich with low rates of poverty ? That is my point.

Why Japanese yen? It says the currency was local.
