As for why do nearly genetically identical populations in different countries have different IQ - genetics are fickle, and g is determined by a very small number of genes. So, inscrutable differences can cause varying results. Current IQ results are basically entirely dependent on the "did you have some sort of eugenic selection in the last 200 years" modifier.

How do you explain huge drop between Poland and Ukraine? They are genetically very similar.

Perhaps Ukrainian poverty and stress due to war. Ukraine only participated in PISA once in 2022. Also they aren't that similar, they're both large counties. Also Catholic religion could have prevented cousin marriages. If you divide the map into above and below IQ of 96, it fist precisely into Catholic and Orthodox divide of Europe.

Interesting that according to this PISA-derived map, Greece has more or less the exact IQ than Israel with just one decimal of difference, although the latter is by economic measures more advanced.

I on my side however have some indications on why Greece's IQ is at 94 points: we still have lots of people from Albania (they're still the largest immigrant community) and Pakistan. Because Albanian students, due to the presence of the community for over 30 years now, are attending Greek schools in fairly large numbers. And according to this map, Albanians are at 82 IQ points, almost 12 points below. And there are some Pakistanis as well, as Pakistanis as a whole, who have an average IQ in the low 80s, are now becoming the largest immigrant community here.

And, as I indicated before: the effort Greek students gave was much less than most other participating nations, especially compared to the top placed ones.

Turks are 72% of Turkey, so these minorities can't be depressing the IQ that much. Maybe it's 93 for ethnic Turks instead of 91 for whole country, but its' still far lower than European average which is 97,4

Eastern Anatolia, Eastern Meditteranean, Southeastern Anatolia, and the Black Sea Coast of Turkey have a considerable amount of Kurds, Laz Arabs, and other minorities. People from the Aegean Region are predominantly ethnic Turks. Also, they have the most Turkic genes. Ethnic average Turk IQ is in the 96-98 range. If we excluded Arabs and Kurds from the Meditteranean region and Laz, Georgian people from the Black Sea coast of Turkey, Coastal Turkey would have been higher.

It probably isn't. We don't know what was the sample size for that Lynn study and we don't even know if the 100 figure is even synchronized to the European or White American IQ of 100. PISA test takers are randomly selected form the entire country and they have a much larger sample size. I don't trust these Lynn study numbers until I learn more about it.
