My dog would sleep at the end of my bed so it never really bothered me.

I’ve had some friends literally share their ice cream cone with their dogs and I would puke a little inside.

When I was a kid a skinny, aggressive dog slept at the edge of my bed. I later found out he was a coyote.

When my cat was still alive it slept next to me any other day. We woke each other up a lot though. Still, it was very cuddly and comfortable.

Do you have data on that? It seems very strange to me. Concerning smallpox for example, it was observed that farmers had less often smallpox or less serious forms of it, because they were more in contact with the cows. And my paediatrician told me again recently that the children that are more in contact with animals have a better immunity, that they have less allergies.

But I believe that indeed, concerning tuberculosis, the improvements in veterinary medicine, in order to detect the animals ill from the disease and not to propose them for consumption, helped a lot.

I see on those youtube videos dogs sleeping on someone's pillow with their balls touching it. Cute dogs, but no thanks.

Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

Even if this were hard--that is how it is ! Assuredly, however, by far the harder fate is that which strikes the man who thinks he can overcome Nature, but in the last analysis only mocks her. Distress, misfortune, and diseases are her answer.
