How do you feel about sleeping with an animal?

I remember the dog of my sister used to stealthly get in my bed and sleep there while i was sleeping, i didn't care but my mother didn't like it.

Yes, I sleep with my cats and dog. Not now btw, too hot for them, the cats prefer to sleep outside and the dog on the floor (on his own mattress lol). But in the winter we all cuddle up together.

Do you have data on that? It seems very strange to me. Concerning smallpox for example, it was observed that farmers had less often smallpox or less serious forms of it, because they were more in contact with the cows. And my paediatrician told me again recently that the children that are more in contact with animals have a better immunity, that they have less allergies.

But I believe that indeed, concerning tuberculosis, the improvements in veterinary medicine, in order to detect the animals ill from the disease and not to propose them for consumption, helped a lot.

Yea the only thing you are likely to get from animals is fungus's like ringworm (closely related to athletes foot) which you can get just from going barefoot

Co-sleeping in the same bed with a pet is something odd to me. Pets love us unconditionally, but it doesn't mean they have an unrestricted access to owner's bed and pillow. Boundaries of our privacy in bed should be maintained and guarded even from our lovely pets, but it is only my own opinion

When I was a kid I slept over a friends house, they had multiple dogs and cats. I slept on the guest bed, and when I woke up I discovered that I was allergic to cats (they told me that the cats frequently slept on that bed). My face looked like I had been beaten-up, my eyes nearly swollen shut. I was supposed to go home that day, but my friend's mother looked at me and said, 'We can't send him home looking like this'. So I got to stay another night (they washed the sheets), I was happy.
