I don't believe a gay gene exists. If it did, it would have been bred out of existence by now. I chalk the LGBT phenomenon up to hormonal changes of the modern world. LGBT sexual orientation and ideology is just a reflection of humans' changing biology, not the other way around. No one turns gay because they saw a gay pride event as a child.

Obviously there is no one single gay gene but genetics plays a role and there must be many genes that influence this trait (most traits are polygenic).

I think Chinese company WeGene even offers a report on gayness based on DNA.

Yes and i'm saying that the cousins/siblings who match someone else with the 'gay gene' will create a child who stops the spread of the allele and so on. It's a socially indoctrinated phenomenon, look at places such as Rio De Janeiro in which 19.3% of men are gay or bisexual. It's not like they coincidentally all popped up there because of some gay gene, they were socially conditioned by their very liberal environment to take on such a lifestyle. I disagree heavily with your premise

Certainly a part of it is biological. Some of it is also experiential. Rape, trauma, pornography, onanism, bad parenting (isolating the child from females completely) might trigger homosexuality, too.

Some of it is biological but not specific to homosexuality. Think of easily influenced people or people who become easily addicted. Some might become drug addicts, others homosexuals. There's no way to predict how they'll end up based solely on biology, it's the social environment that pushes them one way or the other.

I forget the social / cultural indoctrination in the survey, I also think that a boy or a girl from an lgbt family is more likely to be gay or lesbian than one from a heterosexual family.
