Yeah, I used khokhol just for kicks, didn't mean specifically recent Ukrainians.

But Chisinau is 36% R1a, some of it should definitely be more recent. Otherwise it would not be that high.

Most of Romanian J2 falls under J2a and then J2a-M67.

Here are all the ancients positive for J2a-M67.

Could be, but that's from a Romanian paper, so the locals were probably picked carefully. It might not be obvious from R1a, since it's at comparable levels to those in monoethnic villages, but that elevated N1c definitely comes from mixing with Russians.

The majority of the Romanian variety of R1b falls under R-L23. It's the most widespread subclade in Southeast Europe. I think there was one sample from Glinoe with that subclade, but most of it probably arrived with the folk that brought J2 and romanised the locals. I doubt we will see much outside of E-V13, G2a and non-CT10228 I2 among pre-Roman locals.

BR2 and I1504 are two alternative names of the same sample.

Really cool Ion! Interesting that according to your findings, E1b1b in Bihor county is the most common among Slovaks, after them among Romanians.

    Thanks
You probably misread, as it's at 12% among Romanians from Bihor, 9% Slovaks, 6% Germans and 3% Roma.
