    Hey lol

It's interesting that my family is not from Dalmatia, but probably a small city between Zagreb/Slovenia.

    Chovet - Santa Fe

Founded by the frenchman Alberto Chovet in 1923, was “populated by Austro-Hungarian immigrants fleeing the Second World War and the European famine”.

Many came from the Dalmatian island of Hvar

Between 1924 and 1927 the most important Croatian settlements were created: they entered up to 7 thousand per year.

"In Argentina there are around 400,000 descendants of Croats and about 46,000 are in the province of Santa Fe, which is second behind Buenos Aires," economist Joza Vrljicak, director of Studia Croatica, which has been published since 1960.

The former communal president of Chovet, Esteban “Chiche” Bogdanich Matievich, assured: “In Chovet and Mugueta is where more Croats live after Croatia, speaking in percentage”, he said.

    Chovet
Hey!! That place is in my province!!

Even though it's not that close to my original town.

Chovet is quite close to Venado Tuerto, the most important town of the extreme southern of Santa Fe province, and there settled some croatian immigrants too.
I know a family which surname is Martinich (probably originally they were Martinic), and I know that there are other croatian descendants.

It's very interesting that in Venado Tuerto settled many croatian and irish immigrants.
    Very interesting mix!!

They have also a croatian association in that place!!
And a paper of the community!!

    Follow this link: https://croaciaonline.com/2019/09/22...eria-de-fotos/

It's in spanish though, but you can see a lot of names and pictures of the croatian community in Venado Tuerto - Santa Fe - Argentina.
