"The Book about Tasty and Healthy Food", which was published in the USSR from 1939 to 1990, largely shaped this image of Soviet cuisine. Interestingly, as we approached 1990, the quality of paper and illustrations (polygraphy as a whole) in the book steadily declined, and the shortage of food grew, so that many of the dishes from the book were no longer available.
Here are some samples from the 1952 "classic" edition. It can be considered an advertisement of that time.
    Red and black caviar

    Sprats in oil

    White mushrooms

    Snack cheese

    Oatmeals

Condensed milk, cream, cocoa, coffee, etc.

    Tomato juice

    Riga and Zhigulevskoe beer

    Wines

    Compotes

    Cabbage rolls

    Various cereals and soups

Cherry jelly, buckwheat, pea puree soup
