In my school my English teacher was a full-born Englishman, he came from near Liverpool. He was cool and I liked his lessons, seriously. There are also a couple of British channels on YouTube that I watch, for example Bald and Bankrupt haha. There's something about his videos and his style which I find really entertaining.

In Russia Anglophobia was widespread until the time when it was replaced by widespread anti-Americanism. Generally atitude to Anglo-Saxons in Russia has always been very negative and Anglo-Saxons have been perceived as eternal enemies of Russia.
There's an often used expression in Russia: "Англичанка гадит" - "Englishwoman shits" which according to Russians characterize the actions of England in the world. Also in Russia often a distorted name is used for Anglo-Saxons, instead of "Англосаксы" (sounds Anglosaksi) they say "Наглосаксы" (Naglosaksi) which means kind of Shameless-Saxons.

Because under the guise of culture, civilization and gentlemanliness someone can see the usual criminal-huckster-slaveowner mentality.
In Russia, the island of Great Britain is often compared to a pirate ship or a place of exile for prisoners from all over Europe in the past, which contributed to the crystallization of the corresponding mentality.
Of course, this applies mainly to the local "elite" and the so-called aristocracy who plan the political course, the ordinary working class from any country will find a common language with each other quite simply.
