So, in the history of all countries, you can unearth a lot of dirty things, but the commercialism and scale of the activities of the British is amazing. Plus, at school I had the right teachers who conveyed to us the "peculiarities" of the English, and from childhood I knew about the Boers, Scots, Ireland and their struggle. The beginning of 2000s, if that. And I still remember about the Opium Wars and pictures of the execution of rioters in India and the Golden Triangle.
If we take our time, then London is the hub where all the most important world financial flows converge. This is largely due to the fact that Britain has been the largest maritime trading power for a long time, but the British would not be themselves if they had not come up with an additional way of monetization - London is a safe haven for illegal money and a haven for financial criminals from all over the world.

In Crete (and some other islands), English teenagers come to get drunk, fornicate and just generally behave like hooligans.

But most English tourists are not teenagers. They're very nice and help keep the island afloat economically speaking. Quite welcome and very much appreciated.

I didnt realise here was so much anglophobia still in Russia, suprised the largest country in the world can be still so triggered by an island 8 times bigger than Kalingrad!

The drunken yobs in the resorts are the worst of it, and is the same on Saturday nights in towns and cities here during the winter.

The middle and upper classes dont go and get drunk in the resorts, its just the working classes mainly, so huge apologies,

The people that hate the english most of all are Londoners, as in the liberal types (think bbc, the guardian newspaper) they really hate everything about the english
