Default Should the Labour and Conservative Parties rename themselves?

I think they should. The Labour Party is really nowadays a public sector middle-class party, and should call itself (ironically, if you know your history) the Social Democratic Party. (Social democracy and Labourism aren't really the same thing - I'll explain later). As for the Conservative Party, exactly what are they 'conservative' about? They are really a Free Market Libertarian Party, many of whose younger members in particular are not really interested in social stability, tradition or conservative morals.

I guess if I was in England I would be in the Conservative if you say they are Libertarian in the vein of John Stuart Mill and John Locke I'm also a fan of Thatchertism at least when it comes to economics. Apparently my DNA is English but unfortunately I was born in New York which even though it is liberal (in the American sense) its culture is Catholic and Jewish on an old Dutch protestant root. It's weird here. Anyway, since I don't live in England I do not think it is any of my business to stick my nose into your politics but suggesting a name change.

It is not so much Libertarian like Locke or Mill. More Hayek and Friedman.

English Tories aren't strong Unionists either, I think the "Unionist" part should be dropped and a Scottish Unionist Party reformed. The way it was before.

Though it's up them, not my side but I think they'd win seats.

They should unite, form a super group, Bum Fuckers United.
Labour can take the Left cheek, Tories the Right. And together, they can make Britain prolapse. Again.

Labour are indeed a middle class centric party but, mostly they just hate the working class and use the fear of the political influence of the lower classes, to bind together the middle class and the "minorities" that form their base.

The Tories aren't really libertarian, in the modern American sense. Not that they don't have members that are. The party seems to be the last hurrah for Eaton or something.

Their leadership is just busy trying not to get lynched by the champagne socialists in the media.

All policies are temporary and contingent on their physical sanctity, which itself if in the hands of the Left.

They want to be popular with the middle class, but having no influence on education, media or the corporate world, they have no way of undoing or mitigating the indoctrination that the Marxists have done.

That said, the reason that they're not conservative any more, imo, is that Labour stole their economic platform (under Blair) and mass immigration changed the "facts on the ground" so much that, the rest of metropolitan middle class society is largely averse to their social/cultural message.

They should just join together with the Lib Dems and all the other fuckers and call themselves what they really are: the Communist Party of Airstrip One.
