I honestly can't rank them, all I can say is that the battle of Helm's Deep remained ingrained in my head since I was 9 and saw it for the first time, so probably Two Towers would be first.
    Just a 26.6% European individual

Two Towers (Helms Deep a better battle in the movies)
Fellowship of the Ring (very close nearly first)

Return of the King (the army of the dead I never liked in the books)

Unexpected journey (dwarves are simply unlikeable)

Desolation of Smaug (elves and erebor amazing but alfrid, fili's wound, barrel ride..)

Battle of the five armies (some great scenes but also by far the worst middle earth film, why did they bother attacking Dale, a crumbling ruin? Dwarves also overpowered, gundabad stuff pointless, thorin a total bellend, no beorn)

Nice typo. Of course he deserved it. Take the prize away from Svetlana Aleksievich and present it posthumously to Tolkien.

I agree with the first position of "The Fellowship of the Ring" and the rest of the ranking, for me the additional value of the first film is given by the fact that we watched it on a pirated videotape in 2001, on which the color rendition was broken and the Balrog looked not like a fiery demon, but like a gray lizard.

Actually 1961 prize went to some Ivo Andric. Never heard about man (before), maybe our Balkan members knows him.

Nobel Prize of Literature (as well as Peace) are not as prestigious as the prize of sciences.

I first read The Felllowship, then watched the film and the entire trilogy. Got too lazy for reading the rest. Tolkien was a very conservative man, but I gotta love his eye for detail in storytelling. You just need time, lots of time, reading his work. Only from page 100 was I able to enjoy reading his book.
