Sep 10, 2020
The largest-ever Bronze Age hoard to be discovered in London has revealed a capacity for brutal violence among the earliest denizens of the East End.
The Havering Hoard, made up of 453 bronze objects dating between c.900 and c.800 BC, will go on display at the Museum of London Docklands from Friday.
Unearthed in 2018 by archaeologists trawling the Havering settlement near the Thames, the third largest Bronze Age hoard in the UK has given up significant insights into the lives of Londoners 3,000 years ago.
