Seriously, cool results, goes to show that your ancestry is mostly homogeneous I guess Did you know about the distant Sub-Saharan ancestry? Sometimes I wonder how many Americans could have had African-American ancestors, after seeing all of the 23andme results on Reddit and now yours as well.
    Haha! Thanks (:

Yeah, it’s one of the reasons I wanted to do a dna test actually. I started off building my tree and I found a 5th or 6th? Great grandparent listed as mulatto on a census. I was pretty shocked actually. I was told there was Indian on that side of the family, but after researching my moms side and her family Indian stories I didn’t figure I’d find anything. So I never found out what exactly mulatto meant on this census, but usually it mean African mixed with white. When I told this to my family they dismissed the idea that they could possibly have African ancestry. So I got .4% Nigerian on my 23andMe. But I’m also the only person out of all my relatives on that side that gets Nigerian specifically. Some of them get sengambian and they do get Native American. So idk. Was thinking they were possibly melungeoun. Then I recently found a picture of my 5th great grandmother, where I thought this was coming from, and now I’m just not sure anymore!

    Here she is...

So, yeah, now I’m a bit confused again..

This few % black african genetic is interesting, maybe you have a black ancestor who lived 200 years ago, so you can use the "n" word.

It seems in most cases the Germans came over a bit later. But I’m not really sure how to calculate what percentage of either I should be..

Can’t wait for the supposed new update for 23andme. Would love to see some of that broadly decrease!

Interested to know what ancestry is going to calculate Anyone have any guesses about what I’ll get?? lol I’m just going to guess they give me very little German.
Cool to know =) I hope you fill in the gaps with your great-grandparents . And lol I think MyHeritage is notorious for giving some people very odd results . And I'm looking forward to the 23andme update too, I have a lot of broadly as well that I would like to see get assigned and I'm hoping I might get a few more recent ancestor locations.

I'm excited to see how your ancestry results will compare .

Thank you I’m excited, too! lol. I’ve wanted to do ancestrydna for a while to compare and for the trees. It was on sale so I thought why not! But I wasn’t expecting it to take this long this time of the year, but I guess they just had an update and it was on sale so idk. They are killing me lol both ancestry and 23andme...

Eurogenes K13, K15, MDLP K23b for starters. I often mention Dodecad but I'm afraid there are too few relevant references for you.
