Expensive software also mostly introduces a subscription payment model, but there is a certain stable contingent that will use the hacked latest offline version of the program until the hardware on which it is installed dies a natural death. And that's okay, not everyone needs the latest version and paying for a bunch of subscriptions in addition to utility bills.
Everything here is simple in my opinion - if you use software as a professional tool, then the license fee is cents in comparison with your income, and if you are an amateur, then look for open source counterparts.

I decided to boot it up again, and after 2 matches I remembered why I had stopped: Losing over 10k credits per match despite winning and surviving in Tier X
