In The Crusader, one of the tactics Williams wrote about is igniting gas mains.

“(The shooter) walked along the passenger side of the (sheriffs' patrol vehicle),” (Captain Kent) Wegner said. “He acted as if he was going to walk past the car. And then he made a left turn directly toward the car, raised a pistol and fired several rounds inside of the vehicle, striking both of the sheriff’s deputies.”

Williams wrote of setting up sniper units in metropolitan areas. Strictly speaking of course, this was not a sniper attack; a rifle was not used from a long distance by a perpetrator in a hidden location. But the underlying principle is the same: ambush innocent people and take them by surprise.

The above video is a recording of part of an emergency meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Clackamas County, Oregon. The meeting was conducted via video conference call on September 10, 2020.

1:36 - 2:26	Captain Jeff Smith of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Department informs the Commissioners that there have been reports that extremists 1) have been caching cans of gasoline around the county in order to start fires, and 2) they possess chain saws, which would be used to cut down power poles. The power poles would be cut down in order to start fires. Captain Smith uses the phrase "telephone poles", but the phrase "power poles" would be more accurate.
4:14 - 5:02	In response to Captain Smith's remarks, one of the commissioners suggests that the National Guard be called out.
6:20 - 6:26	According to Captain Smith, he received information from a "sergeant on the street".
