Default Is Greek Dance Popular in Greece?

I'm part of a Greek dance group that's been around in Chicago for over 30 years. Only Greeks can join and it's a really amazing community for Greek-Americans who can actually speak Greek and love their culture. However, I've noticed that in Greece the youth doesn't seem to want to connect with their rich culture and tries very hard to be American, which I find extremely cringey and unfortunate. Is it common for kids in Greece to be part of dance groups? Imo I think one of the best parts of being Greek is the music and dances, it's amazing how they've been preserved for so long.

    Yeah it is

All Greeks usually learn some dances(at least the local ones from the region where they live or hail from) and traditional dancing
is part of normal parties or festivities in Greece

Almost every Greek has danced once in his life a simple Syrto and Kalamatiano

If he is Mainland Greek chances are high he knows and dances Tsamiko too
Islanders dance Ballos,Cretans Pentozali,Ortses,Sousta or Pidiktos,Greeks from Lesbos and Asia Minor Karsilimas
    and Thracians Zonaradikos

Hasapikos and Zempeikikos are common dances too or Tsiftetelli for women but not all Greeks like the last one because of its
oriental hints and the sexual display
The Talmud tells us that the only language the Torah could be translated into elegantly is Greek.

Each community has it least one
