Edinburgh U. cancels Scotland’s greatest philosopher, David Hume, in name of antiracism

David Hume (1711-1776) may be the greatest philosopher Scotland ever produced, and one of the most influential minds of the Age of Enlightenment — but never mind all that.

Hume’s “comments on matters of race, though not uncommon at the time, rightly cause distress today,” states University of Edinburgh officials in explaining why they’ve decided to strip his name from one of their buildings.

That is insane , I actually never read any of Hume's stuff but know of him. I read some of Arthur Schopenhauer's stuff and came across some racist comments but I don't see Germany cancelling Schopenahuer then again maybe most universities don't teach Schopenhauer to begin with but Hegel instead because Socialists don't like Schopenhauer.

The only philosophers I have read are Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and Wittgenstein.
