    Default How mongoloid is Meghalaya?

    It is located in northeast India, just north of Bangladesh. Some of the folks look quite Mongoloid, other don’t look Mongoloid at all, and there are a few who looked mixed as well. This makes me think there has been a migration of Mainland Indians/Bangladeshis to the state relatively recently.

    the two largest groups in meghalaya are Khasis and Garos. both are about 1/3 each in population so 2/3 combined.

    Khasis = Austroasiatic
    Garos = Sino tibetan

    Indic people are only about 10% of the population. the rest 90% belong to sino tibetan or austroasiatic groups. so its a very mongoloid majority state.

    Both khasi and garo results are available on harappaworld spreadsheet.

    Khasi- khasis are about 60% mongoloid and 40% south asian/indic.

    Garo - Garos are about 80% mongoloid and 20% indic. The ones that look mostly mongoloid in the pics must be the garos while the mixed looking ones are probably Khasis. Garos score almost the same as burmese.
