Germany lost all their crack troops in North Africa, Sicily and The Eastern Front, I used soft very liberally I mean they weren't an effective fighting force as most were conscripts or foreign soldiers. During the D-Day invasions the allies faced tons of foreign conscripts. The Germans were spent by the invasion of Normandy; even the battle of the bulge was pretty hopeless for them; it wasted valuable resources and crack troops that could have been used to defend against the Soviet invasion which still would have succeeded due to America and Britain's air campaigns over Germany which had pretty much halted their production.

Even if this were hard--that is how it is ! Assuredly, however, by far the harder fate is that which strikes the man who thinks he can overcome Nature, but in the last analysis only mocks her. Distress, misfortune, and diseases are her answer.

Yea the if the Wehrmacht and SS leadership were left to their own devices without Hitlers crippling input they would have fared much better. Hitler was the main issue with bad decision making; most his generals opposed his worst decisions. If they were allowed to make more tactical retreats instead of retreating solely out survival they could have maybe even won. Hitler was just not fit to make the right military decisions on a field level.

Never came close to USA. USA steamrolled over WW2 with minimal military and other losses, without changing its economic, political and other principle, but Germany had to become Nazi in order to recruit all the people, and gain control of the vital industry.

Btw the fighting SS divisions had such fanatism like japanese army, they have never gived up, and in the end many SS soldier killed himself to follow Hitler to death. Another thing is the Holocaust, i think you need tons of fanatism to do an industrial genocide, the germans were the most fanatic europeans by far in the WW2. But yes the average japanese soldier was more fanatic than an average german (or other european).
I said many times the WW2 was simple unwinnable because the Allies had much more resources, manpower, lands (colonies) etc. Hitler wanted everything very quickly, they should've stopped after the conquest of France, Norway, West Poland etc.

Some SS surrendered a lot were shot by the Americans when they surrendered for shooting Americans who surrendered. The SS was a part of the NSDAP not the actual German military so they could recruit a lot better quality soldiers. I mean I would call WW2 unwinnable, the Axis just didn't know when to stop, Hitler could have gotten away with taking Czechoslovakia and the Japs could have gotten away with their Chinese gains, but they both were so greedy and faced too little resistance in the beginning that it got their head. France did attack Germany first though.

More interesting question/speculation would go:
If Nazi Germans would have lived in USA (have all those lands and raw materials in their hands) and ''Yankees'' opposite in Germany ... who would have won?
Yes, I'm much more interesting what people are (how great) versus what their countries might be.

Yea we not only created a massive military industrial complex we also modernized Soviet production and supplied them with a lot of food and weapons. Most people don't know but the Soviet factories were American built aside from a very very small handful they had before WW2. Our tanks were pretty crappy too, we went for mass production over technological superiority. One major advantage we had though was air and the fact our infantry rifle was semiauto. The German and Jap militaries were basically WW1 militaries (aside from German Tanks and their late war tech which didn't help them much)
