I often read that Tajiks have an alpine phenotype, just like central French or Swiss, which is quite surprising.
And I know that some Tajiks can be pale-skinned and even red-haired. But all the Tajiks I met in my life, as lameduck pointed it out, looked like Afghans.

Overall, I'd say the Turks (from Turkey), by a big margin, given that a lot of them have Balkan and Circassian genes.

Last year, precisely at this time of year, I was traveling through Central Asia. It's a pity that I was forced by an accident to interrupt my journey in Kyrgyzstan before I had time to visit Tajikistan (and the Wakhan corridor in Afghanistan).

Thanks to my travel insurance, I could fly back home and get another ticket from the airline for free, but I'm not sure the Covid-pandemic will allow me to return there in a near future.
My only consolation is that October was already too cold get the best experience of the Pamir mountains, with many roads closed and almost no nomads with their herds.

No they don’t lol tf. Pashtuns are nothing alike Pashtuns are south Asians Pakistani and Afghans. Have nothing to do with tajiks

Guy on the right looks Irish or more accurately east Slavic, are these ethnic Tajiks? though the pale ladies in the middle look more or less Tajik i.e alpine forms.
