    Default 23andMe 5.9 Update

If you get a kit now, it will be done using the new 5.9 version. Still no word on when the previous samples will be updated. Apparently it is supposed to remove the "unassigned" as well as the "Broadly X" parts as much as possible. Here are some examples of it posted on Reddit. It seems to be extremely accurate with barely any unassigned and Broadly.

    Spoiler!

As far as I know, no. But yes it is definitely the best ancestry company overall

They did for a brief period in 2018, it was called 'discover23' and people who'd tested with ancestry could upload their raw data during the 1week window. I still have my second 23andme report from that, it's a bit off but it still goes through updates like a normal result

My father’s account always had some of the highest broadly NW euro I’ve ever seen. Looking forward to the update.

Yeah same, most of the new samples out straight up have 0% Broadly so this should be a good update

My "broadly" results from earlier update:

    8.3% Broadly Southern European
    0.4% Broadly Northwestern European
    0.3% Broadly European

    5.9% Broadly Northern West Asian
4.8% Broadly Western Asian & North African

    0.2% Broadly Sub-Saharan African

Not too bad but still roughly 20% of my results, so they do pile up.

Don't forget it should also remove the unassigned as well (if you have any)
    Comes out for me as:

    6.6% Broadly Northern West Asian
1.6% Broadly Arab, Egyptian and Levantine
1.5% Broadly Western Asian and North African

1.7% Broadly Central Asian, Northern Indian and Pakistani
1.9% Broadly Central and South Asian

    2.6% Unassigned

About 10-15% Total Broadly+Unassigned, not too bad but still a decent amount to look forward to
