Me too and is greatly underrrated I think. It explains many inter Channel similarities for some SE English.

Later Normans were tiny elite. They didn't contribute too much to common people except chivalry.

Not really, there are a lot of Norman origin surnames in modern England...

The same situation like many surnames like Potocki in Poland probably

Intriguingly, we identified several additional pairs of kin among the other Viking genomes. One is a
    pair of 2nd 396 degree male relatives (i.e. half-brothers, nephew-uncle or grandson-grandfather) from two
397 locations separated by the North Sea: one of the samples (VK279) was excavated in Denmark
398 while the other individual (VK144) was found in the UK (Oxford site).
Have been waiting for an off the boat Saxon. Hopefully we will see what it is like soon.

Also many Early Viking and Iron Age weren't included. Iron age is what I want to see mostly.

The Normans who conquered England were already basically fully Frenchified, since the small Norman elite married with the local population in Northern France and adopted their language and religion.

Also in Ireland. My married name is Norman for example and I have a couple in my family tree.

This is what I got with the full spreadsheet. The VK samples have really eaten into the large amount of Saxon I usually get.

With all the Viking samples amalgamated. Some of these are Insular Celtic of course.
