After similar threads for Romania and Moldova (Moldavia, Wallachia and Transylvania), I decided that it's time to show Bulgaria some love as well.

Later today or tomorrow I will also post the averages by provinces. Please don't copy and give them to Lucas, because I don't want to have 1001 averages on K13 again. We will just use the regional ones, as I am doing for Romania and R. Moldova.

By the way, we were talking the other day about the genetic composition of Northern Bulgarians versus Southern Romanians. The two of them are similar, but what's interesting is that in both countries the Western parts are more Northern-shifted than the Central and Eastern.
Any guesses on what's the cause for that?

In fact Bulgarians are not Bulgars, maybe some parts of Bulgaria have more East_Asian/Siberian admixture but in general they are not,uses only name,they r native+slavic.

Of course they are not Turkic. They are just Serbs who use Turkic name, like you are Serbs with ancient Macedonian name/umbrella.

Amazing job. You are doing more for Bulgarian genetics than all bulgarians combined. The sea side was heavily colonized by Greeks and Romans. Most of them spoke Greek until around 1920 and some are still called greeks for shits and giggles. Also keep in mind the Varna neolithic samples, there was a big culture out there.
