Moldavian highlanders

To see the similarities between Moldavians and Carpathian Rusyns, exist these interesting pictures from Austro-Hungarian times with ethnicities from Bukovina. Moldavians and Rusyns are basically indistinguishable, Hutsuls are shown as a separate ethnic group, despite they are Rusyns too.

I was talking more about female sarafans, anyway i don't know the situation in Moldavia, but in Russia it's a shame, how the tradition of national costume was lost.

In today RM female dresses are basically the same like in the pictures from OP, but with some local differences.

Never seen such Russian folk costumes. In Moldova cheap folk costumes are not rarity too, but not like this.

Many of them I think looks fine, different from the guy posted by you above, but I am not a specialist in Russian folk costumes.

In my area local East Slavic minorities are dressed like this, these women for example are from a village in my district.

You can see the difference compared to local folks at this Folk Festival in my town.
