Default How important is genealogy to you?

It seems like a lot of Apricians care more about their ancient forefathers, who certainly left no paper trail, than their recent ancestors within the past centuries. How important is genealogy to you? Which do you find more interesting?

Much more important to me than ancient DNA. I could care less about this "WHG", "CHG" stuff. It just doesn't interest me as much.

Very important, I would like to know as much as possible about the origin of the human species, the date of appearance, the place of appearance, the reason for its appearance, its evolution, the culture it formed, the origin of language, traditions, customs, lifestyles.
I believe that I am on earth to discover man, and I try to do this as long as, although time does not allow me, I have a passion that makes me give up more important things in exchange for these discoveries.

Genealogy is about as equally important to me as DNA findings with recent ancestry. It's definitely more important than ancient ancestry to me. I've gotten very into genealogy research before, but once I get frustrated with it I avoid it for a while lol.
    =(^.^)=

Also I don't do classifications currently, sorry.

Its important to know who you descend from, so you don't end up in a situation where you claim you are Native American in front of the whole world just because you have high cheekbones.

    I’m big on genealogy..
I’ve built a pretty extensive family tree through Ancestry over the last 10 years and I’ve been able to read up on some pretty inspiring (and lack there of) ancestors of mine.
I follow genealogy more than autosomal dna.

It's important, but there's not much more I can get out of it than has already been handed-down or researched. When your family comes from the same place/s for countless generations it's less interesting, certainly for genealogy before photo's or living memory.

If you're a euromutt it's probably more interesting, and genetics less.

Genealogy is far more important than the DNA test.
