Maybe they have daddy issues, I have noticed though that the shorter the woman the taller the guys they date. I personally think its weird to have a huge height difference. Every culture and city is different though, but in the South and the more Southern Midwest it's not really an issue from my experience. Average is average. Most women I have dated have been close to my height a few even my height.

It's definitely a thing imo and like Stellan said it's usually short girls who are the biggest height Nazis, under 5' will often demand 6'3+. I think it's a dom/sub dynamic they want. I had a friend back in college who was short (about 5'7) but good looking and charismatic otherwise, he never did well with girls our age. I remember distinctly this very short girl who he was deeply into friendzoned him hard and only chased after the tallest guys in the year. He ended up having better luck with girls that were substantially younger

It is somewhat true, I will admit especially for short women. I have noticed this; but honestly a women below 5 foot is practically in birth or hormonal defect range; a lot of them are cute but super short people both male and female have complexes. I think physique has a lot to do with it too. I have friends who are my height but super frail looking who are complexed and shorter friends who look good and healthy who have no issues.

I think it's one of those things most women aren't willing to admit or talk about publicly for one reason or another but I've had more than one gf/hookup in the past tell me in private how happy they are that I'm so much taller than them and that they don't like shorter guys. I try to shield my boy from that stuff as much as I can but it is what it is...

i think it's more of a sub/dom thing like el abominacion said, they want to feel protected and babied. personally i hate huge height differences, they look super weird imo. the tallest guy i've been with was like 5'10-5'11 and that's perfect for me bc i like being only a few inches shorter

Yea I can see that. I dated one short chick who was like 4'10 and she was pretty superficial and somewhat crazy, I was her side boyfriend basically which I take the blame for because I was an asshole when I was a kid. She was orphaned as a baby though so some of that may have been issues relating to that. She was Irish and Sicilian which are both fairly short people. Short guys are pretty messed up too in my experience, that's also why little man syndrome is a term . I maybe just can't relate because I am not short so I could just talking out of my ass. I am also built like a bull so most women naturally like me. I do get the sexual dimorphism thing and do think women wan't someone larger and taller. The women I have dated the same height as me didn't have an issue but it didn't feel as natural.

On paper it's not that short, but in the real world where we live it is, especially in relation to myself and some of our other friends, and I know it's an insecurity of his.

It all depends too, you both live in a more metropolitan type of area. I am from the country where people are a bit more personal and slow paced. But even when I lived in the bigger cities it just didn't seem to be an issue. I can see like 5'5, 5'6 and maybe even 5'7 being awkward for guys, but 5'8 if you aren't a noodle arms (or dick) just seems kinda laughable to consider too short to be successful.

i think it is a bit supernatural, too, not only but a little bit because there are blind or guys in wheelchair who are happily married as well.

Yeah physique is definitely a factor too. Bigger = better to women, as someone who’s been both overweight and stick thin I got a load more attention when I was a fatty than when I was a stick insect XD

It's 100% in his head. One of my roommates is even shorter than him and is currently "dating" 2 different girls.

Yea i have mentioned it previously but I have seen it all when it comes to couples. I knew a chick in a wheelchair married to a tall pretty handsome dude who still dominated the relationship even though she was disabled. People can't be thrown into a box as easily as most people think. I knew a dude who only dated black chicks for a long time and dated one taller and larger than him (he was super skinny and a couple inches shorter than me). She thought he was cute and all but dumped him because he was kinda of a beta, he was too nice all the time.
