EDIT: thought I'd be nice, actually:

    Io sono
    Tu sei
    Lui/lei č
    Noi siamo
    Voi siete
    Loro sono

Idk man, you say it happens a lot so maybe she's just a twat, but maybe it's something you're doing. We weren't there, we can't know, at least, not without comprehensive screens.
Bro, I know how to conjugate essere.

I remember now. I must have interpreted the "xe" as c'e in the standard dialect, which admittedly, didn't exist at the time when the novel is supposed to have taken place. That's what it was... "Non xe vero."

It's still rude of her to have called me an imposter. Give me two years and I'll run circles around this girl in terms of Italian competence.

OK, but you still said 'non c'e vero.'

My Venetian is regrettably poor but I believe the correct sentence would be no xe vero.

It's still rude of her to have called me an imposter. Give me two years and I'll run circles around this girl in terms of Italian competence.
I have no doubt, in bocca al lupo.

"come stai" is commonly used. "puttana cazza" is not. I tried to popularize it when I was in grade school but it didn't work. When it comes to Italian-Americans I'm kind of biased against them, I had a bad experience with people like Crimson Guard and Racial Reality, allegedly It-Americans with a penchant for being often full of shit.

not that i can answer this question for you, but i appreciate your mindset on being more helpful than harmful to beginners learning a new language. i can speak and read spanish, but i don’t tell people that because of some dickhead making fun of me as a kid trying to learn.

i remember still studying and stuff like that, but having trouble to speak confidently to others because i don’t want to meet someone else that will say something shitty to me.

I found this book for free through the Italian Institute of Chicago in association with the Accademia della Crusca. I like graffiti. It's easy to remember.

"Come ti senti" makes me think about a scrictly health related situation. Like when somebody you know has not been feeling so well in recent times you can ask "(right now as opposed to before) come ti senti? "

"Come stai" is more used , but it can also be about feelings and not necessarily health so..even if more generic is the most common option

BTW Puttana Cazza is Hilarious, i may use it myself. (althogh as a roman i use Troia/mignotta more often, sometimes even Troione/Mignottone)

That's the thing, she had been sick the day earlier... And here she was telling me I was wrong; an imposter, no less.

I was right in kicking that rude bitch to the curb. Troia maleducata di merda!
