It's not a must. You can be hired by just speaking english besides your mother language. I'm telling you because I worked at the airport. And back then there wasn't Google translate.

Are we speakers of Scandinavian languages victims of Anglo-Saxon colonization because we have to learn English starting at the age of 7?

Or are we privileged because the Scandinavian languages are nearly related to English, and thus making English easier to learn?
