Honestly, Serbs are pretty homogenous for a medium sized nation (not the same ofc, but quite close). We Croats have bit higher genetic diversity.
What matters is that our identities are formed as is yours and only some retard thinks he can tell people what they are when even century ago such attempts failed.

Montenegrins considered themselves for Serbs for centuries. Things were changed due to communist brainwashing and later during the dictatorship of Milo Đukanović.
Macedonian question is complex. Slavic speakers of Macedonia never in history had clear national identity before SFRJ.

The thing is, everyone at some moment through history did the same thing. The same goes with Orthodox Christians from Bosnia who considered themselves Bosnians/Bosniaks (however), at some point in the last 2 centuries they switched due to political reasons. Don't blame others for the same reason.
