Little addition: I was afraid fruit diet will make me hungry/tire me but I feel great and have tons of energy. I also work out in gym every day, gained muscle mass and look more athletic than ever.

Good point. There indeed is quite some vegetarians and vegans who aren't leftist, they're just not as confrontational. The whole thing has become somewhat politicized and appropriated by the far leftist Tumblrinas and SJWs. But fact remains, there are all kinds of vegetarians and vegans.
It's been a couple years now since I've stopped eating meat. Discovering and trying out various substitutive foods has been very fun, and actually, quite tasty too. Wouldn't call myself a leftist, but not a rightist either. Kinda apolitical.

Yes, I think so. Females are more empathic than males. Suffering of animals in factory farms where they are held in despicable conditions makes me extremely upset.
However, my father (who as most of you said is archetype of Alpha male, and he is!), supports my decision, he loves animals too and is very sensitive towards animal suffering.
He said our family will try to eliminate meat because they don't want to support meat industry with money desite we really loved eating meat and had meat heavy diet.
