I don't consider myself hot. My previous girlfriend said I'm attractive and that's enough for me. Sometimes I receive compliments from strangers, and that's more important than the opinion of family members, because that's more honest I think. So that's also a good point I guess.

In the age of the internet it's just sleazy, mostly because it's been handed out en masse and loses its value + the males who say it hide behind the screen so lack the balls, which has the pathetic factor in it.

hot/sexy make it seem like the guy wants you for sex and that's it, or only sees you for your face or body. i don't mind it from certain people, but there are definitely better compliments.
