Gagauz Turks are from Balchik. They have more Armenian because of Byzantine ancestry.

I thought Deliorman Turks are way more Armenian-like + actually mongoloid than Gagauz. There's no comparison really.

I did not get the question exactly. Pechenegs were Tengrist, then converted into Christianity, shortly after then Turks arrived. Unlike Cumans who settled in masses to specific regions, Pechenegs were distributed to all over Byzantine regions, from Eastern Anatolia to Macedonia and some were among Cumans as well. You should be familiar with Turks who claim of Pecheneg origin, too.

There is a Greek Q-L332 individual who is from Balikesir, Erdek, and matches distantly(29/37) with a Hungarian from Nograd. This pretty much draws the image of the situation.

On the other hand, Islamization happens through Sarı Saltuk's colonization.

Their number in Byzantine registers were up to 100.000. They were distributed all over Anatolia & the Balkans with the purpose of assimilating. Yet then Turks arrived, they joined the fronts of Turks by betraying Greeks. Islamization of them took place both in Anatolia and in Dobruja. When Ottomans arrived in Bulgaria, they have already had contact with Islam(though not adopted fully) thanks to Sarı Saltuk.

On the other hand, Cumans were not cut into small parts and stayed in Dobruja. I believe they were already mixed with natives when Ottomans arrived and a possible mixing scenario with Oghuz resulted in acquiring native DNA as well.

On average, Turkic admixture that brought by pre-Ottoman and Tatar populations are dominated by Oghuz afterward and this shaped the average view.ad
