Also known as "Paw Paw". A remnant of the French element in the former Illinois Country of the American Midwest.

Quite close to Cajun French in accent and also in vowel and consonantal change: "alle" (she), "elle" (her), "dzu" (of the), etc., and so fourth.
In Quebec, however, the accent bears little resemblance to the above two and the original 18th century grammar has been replaced by modern French from overseas. The accent of Moliere probably had more in common with Paw Paw and Cajun than the others mentioned.
