Of course there is a continuity with Spain, also castile still exists and it is in the kingdom of Spain. The United Kingdom was part of the British Empire but it no longer exists

The British empire originated from the UK, and the people of the UK call themselves British or British peoples for a reason.

And the kingdom of Spain was also formed from the kingdom of Castile (and other kingdoms), and a large part of Spaniards consider ourselves and we are Castilians.
I know what I'm saying it's nonsense, I'm just using the same arguments. And I understand that gibraltar belongs to the UK, but I prefer that there is no English territory on the peninsula , if they were independent I would not care.

There are many reasons to say that Gibraltar legitimately belongs to the United Kingdom, but to say that it is because Spain did not exist is sovereign stupidity.

Spain today is ruled by the House of Bourbon, a European dynasty of French origin. lol Spain is ruled by French people. How do Spaniards feel about that?
