In Poland it is getting popular but I think just because of commercial americanization of culture.

We Celebrate Dia de los Muertos, but Halloween is also kind of celebrated but not really in the same magnitude that it is in the States. People do dress, go to partys and some buoldings and neighborhoods do give candy out but definetly not the great majority. Dia de los Muertos is celebrated everywhere though.

Sugar skulls becoming more popular with Halloween is something I approve of though.

It's not rooted in our culture but some people celebrate it due to American media influence. I remember I was working for Dixons (British electronics retail company that runs the Kotsovolos franchise here) and they would make some "Halloween offers", ultimately influencing the culture of the consumer. Same thing with Black Friday that it is now considered a norm.

We traditionally celebrate Apokries/Carnival that it's somewhat similar to Halloween.

    Americanization is Degeneration.

Consumerism at the expense of losing ones soul.

I do not celebrate because no one around me does but I always cringe when some people older than me find Halloween indecent (like my dad) or even outrageous. I am not kidding you. But then again my father is too serious when it comes to everything. One day after Halloween in Poland is celebrated All Saints' Day when Poles visit the graves that has a very different character and I guess it rubs some people off.

I personally find Halloween phenomenon to be pretty cool.

Don't know the Irish well enough to know. But there is probably some trait that I mentioned above there that would be similar.

I don't celebrate it myself, but it can be fun for many people so I don't mind if someone would celebrate it even in my neighbourhood. I have pretty neutral feelings about it
