Honest question Graham but do you think Irish and Scots are similar? Sometimes I think they are worlds apart i.e. Irish much less conformist and more earthy. Judging from Scots I've met though they are very similar to the Irish. I've always felt comradery with the Scots but I'm sure there are differences.

In Germany its not celebrated even close like in the USA, its part of media and companies to start another consumer season but its not working.

We got St. Martin where kids have a lattern, ring on doors, sing a song and get candy.

No kid here would get any candy ringing at doors during halloween.
We just got some halloween parties or cinema movie nights

I love it, although it collides with Croatian tradition.

Catholics in Ireland have always celebrated Halloween. It is definitely not Satanic because it is Indigenous European. Anyway I don't really understand your viewpoint. But Halloween stems from the Irish but I think you would find anything from the US and UK more cool than something Irish? But it is basically an Irish tradition transported to the US.

Scots are quite cliquey, humble and don't like people who stand out so much.

There is no true Scot, but that is what I think.

Don't know the Irish well enough to know. But there is probably some trait that I mentioned above there that would be similar.

That is kind of ambiguous Graham. Are they similar or not? I think there are differences in that Scots are more Calvinistic but in my interactions they are most likely similar. I think Northern English also have a lot more affinity with the Irish.

I don’t think any holiday has as much “warmth” as Orthodox Christmas.

So basically Irish culture regurgitated from the US. Yes I agree.
