    Would not have guessed Jesus and Anjos even being in this list.

    How common are the folowing surnames in Portugal:
    -Frades
    -Senna
    Are there many portuguese people with these surnames?
    I cant find much about them on the web.

    Sena I know of, not Senna. Frades I don't know anybody.

    Sena e Senna é a mesma coisa, acontece que no Brasil se preservou muitos sobrenomes portugueses com a antiga ortografia da língua portuguesa como ''Souza'' ''Mello'' etc, o mesmo acontece com alguns nomes como ''Luiz'' ''Thiago''.

    Sim exatamente, o exemplo com a família "Mello" é um muito bom. Sena / Senna aqui no Brasil pode ser tanto português quanto italiano então, eu tinha dúvidas a respeito desse sobrenome ser comum em Portugal. Acho que no meu caso provavelmente é de origem portuguesa mesmo , por já estar no sudeste no início do século 19.

    Sim, pode ser os dois. Por exemplo, o do Ayrton Senna era de um bisavô italiano dele chamado ''Luigi Senna'' mas a maioria é como o seu, um sobrenome português mesmo, já até conheci um baiano com origem totalmente colonial com o sobrenome ''Senna''.


    Alias, na antiga ortografia da língua portuguesa alguns sobrenomes realmente lembravam os sobrenomes italianos, por exemplo ''De Almeida'' era escrito como D'Almeida semelhante alguns sobrenomes italianos.
