Another thread with complexes against Southern Euros. Into the trash it goes...

Forget about Latinos in this discussion. We are only talking about Old World phenotypes here. New World Hispanics are polluting the "brown" term that rightfully belongs to MENA and South Asians

I agree I met a Sicilian that looked like a Europeanize Mexican, an Italian that looked Arabic and a Greek that was just pure WOG is all I can say. I wouldn't necessarily say they are the majority , though.

TBH the same could be said for South Asians. Though I think Middle Easterners are more "wheatish" than a proper brown, which is what South Asians are IMO.

I think of MENAs with no SSA/East african traits as the Far-eastern/southern end of the Mediterranean phenotype spectrum. They have distinctive traits but so do Greeks in comparison to portuguese people

Again the problem with phenotypes is unless you know the person’s exact ethnic/genetic makeup it’s pointless. I see Greeks that may appear “”woggish”” and could pass for Levantine or Caucasian and ask them where they’re from and they say Turkey, Cyprus, etc. We’re talking populations with high West Asian; 25-30% vs a typical Mainland Greek with maybe 5% max.The same for Sicilians depends on where in Sicily and also their genetic results; I.e., high West Asian and/or MENA.

So tell me exactly your impression of Greek phenotypes; Mainland/Island/Cypriot/Anatolian/Caucasus. They’re all distinct and there may be some overlap between groups. Genetically there’s a distinct separation between these groups (Balkan Greeks, Island Greeks, Anatolian and/or Caucasus Greeks). In terms of phenotypes Greeks can be split (West to East) into Alpine, Alpine Med, Atlantid, Atlantic Med, Pontid, East Med, Armenoid.
