The Scots and Scots-Irish and Irish all settled the same areas though so its somewhat hard to distinguish unless you know your family history. I don't really have much Ulster Scots heritage only Northern Irish and Scottish. I wouldn't consider myself Scots Irish. My ancestors were more English as they held lands in Northern England and emigrated from there.
Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

Even if this were hard--that is how it is ! Assuredly, however, by far the harder fate is that which strikes the man who thinks he can overcome Nature, but in the last analysis only mocks her. Distress, misfortune, and diseases are her answer.

Alexis Mc Allister. Current soccer player. He has partly scottish (irish too) ancestry.

Alexis Mac Allister (born 24 December 1998) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Boca Juniors, on loan from Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion, and the Argentina national team.[1]

    Argentinos Juniors
Born in La Pampa, Mac Allister, like his two brothers, started his career with Club Social y Deportivo Parque before joining Argentinos Juniors' youth setup.[3] He made his professional debut on 30 October 2016, coming on as a second-half substitute for Iván Colman in a 0–0 Primera B Nacional home draw against Central Córdoba.[4]

Mac Allister scored his first professional goal on 10 March 2017, netting in a 2–1 away loss against Instituto. He contributed with three goals in 23 appearances during his first senior campaign, as his side achieved promotion to Primera División as champions. He made his debut in the latter category on 9 September, starting in a 2–1 loss at Patronato.[5]

On 25 November 2017, Mac Allister and his two brothers played all together for the first time, in a 1–0 loss at San Lorenzo; Alexis and Francis were starters, while Kevin came in as a substitute.[6] He scored his first goal in the top tier on 5 March 2018, netting the opener in a 2–0 home defeat of Boca Juniors.[7]

    Brighton & Hove Albion
On 24 January 2019, Mac Allister signed for Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

    Argentinos Juniors (loan)
As part of the deal, Mac Allister was loaned back to Argentinos Juniors for the remainder of the 2018–19 Premier League season.[8]

    Boca Juniors (loan)
In June 2019, Boca Juniors completed the loan signing of Mac Allister; linking him up with brother Kevin, who had joined the club on loan six months prior.[9][10] Mac Allister netted on his Boca debut, scoring the club's only goal in the first leg of a Copa Libertadores round of sixteen victory over Athletico Paranaense on 25 July.[1] On 5 August, Mac Allister played his first league game for Boca as he came on as a substitute in a 2–0 away victory against Patronato.[1]

    International career
Soon after debuting for Argentinos, Mac Allister received a call-up from Claudio Úbeda for the Argentina under-20s.[11] He was selected by the senior team for the first time in August 2019, ahead of friendlies in the United States in September versus Chile and Mexico.[12] His international bow arrived in the match with Chile at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on 5 September.[1]

    Personal life
Mac Allister's older brothers Francis and Kevin are also professional footballers.[13] They are the sons of Carlos Mac Allister and nephews of Patricio Mac Allister, both retired footballers.[13] Mac Allister is of Scottish and Irish descent. Some ancestors hailed from Fife.[14]

Well, the least Americans can do it is call that demographic 'Scots-Irish' as Scotch is kind of drink or cookie not a people

    Educational institutions

The Universidad de San Andrés is an private university located in Victoria, Buenos Aires, Argentina on the shores of the Rio de la Plata, in the metropolitan area of Greater Buenos Aires.

It is served by one of the largest private libraries in the country, Max von Buch. Maintaining over 70,000 volumes, the library was recognized by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation though their Program for Latin American Libraries and Archives. The university provides more than 70 study abroad programs with universities in Europe, North America, Latin America, and Australia.[3] San Andrés is the first institution in Argentina to offer a double degree accredited by Grandes Ecoles ESCP-Europe.[4] The Universidad de San Andrés is one of the only two liberal arts colleges in Argentina, along with Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.

The main campus is located in the town of Victoria, San Fernando Partido (a northern suburb of Buenos Aires). It also has offices in downtown Buenos Aires.

The Saint Andrew's Scots School, also referred to as Saint Andrew's, is an Argentine bilingual school in Olivos, Vicente López Partido, Buenos Aires Province.

Established in 1838 in downtown Buenos Aires, it is the oldest school of British origin in South America.
The school offers early childhood, primary and secondary education and has a university founded in 1988.
The school's campus is located in San Fernando, Tigre Partido, inside the urban area known as Greater Buenos Aires.

The school was established in Argentina on September 1, 1838, by a group of Scottish immigrants who wanted to educate their children in their native language, culture and religion. At the beginning only girls were admitted, although the school accepted boys soon after.

The first location of the school was in Piedras 55, in downtown Buenos Aires. The institution was later moved to the neighbourhood of Constitución, where children from many nationalities attended. The chapel moved to the streets of Belgrano and Perú where it still remains.

In 1882, Scotsman Alexander Watson Hutton (considered the father of Argentine football), arrived to Buenos Aires after being hired by St. Andrew's as headmaster. Hutton encouraged the teaching of sports at the school, which conflicted with the position of the authorities of not considering sports as important as he did. Due to his disagreeing with the policies of the establishment, Hutton resigned one year later. After leaving St. Andrew's, Hutton founded his own institution, the Buenos Aires English High School, where he applied his ideas on the teaching of sports in Argentina.

In 1947, the school moved to Olivos, Vicente López Partido, and in 1988 the institution opened the University of San Andrés.[3] A new campus by Jeffrey J. Berk Arquitectos was inaugurated in 2018 with interior design by Rosan Bosch.

Balmoral College (Spanish: Colegio Balmoral) is a private selective bilingual mixed-sex day school located in Banfield, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
It was founded in 1959 by Scots Frank Pearson and his wife Anne Torbett. The school takes its name from Balmoral Castle, in Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is a private, selective, bilingual (Spanish and English), mixed-sex day school.
It offers French as a third language, also early childhood, primary and secondary education as well as several sports – mainly rugby, field hockey, volleyball and athletics – also music, Scottish dance, theatre and art activities. The school's campus is located in Lomas de Zamora, Buenos Aires.

The latter role earned her several accolades, including an Empire Award and a nomination for a Saturn Award. She gained further attention for her performances as Casey Cooke in the psychological horror films Split (2016) and Glass (2019), and Lily Reynolds in the black comedy Thoroughbreds (2017). In 2017, she received the Cannes Film Festival's Trophée Chopard and a nomination for the BAFTA Rising Star Award.[4]

Taylor-Joy had starring roles in the BBC One drama miniseries The Miniaturist (2017), the BBC One crime drama series Peaky Blinders (2019), and the Netflix fantasy drama series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019). She earned critical acclaim for her performances as Emma Woodhouse in the Jane Austen adaptation Emma. (2020) and for playing Beth Harmon in the Netflix miniseries The Queen's Gambit (2020). In 2021, she won the Golden Globe for Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Film for her performance in The Queen's Gambit.

Anya Taylor-Joy with his father Dennis Alan Taylor, is an Argentine of Scottish heritage

Anya Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy was born on 16 April 1996 in Miami, Florida, the youngest of six children. Her mother, Jennifer Marina Joy, is a psychologist who was born and raised in Zambia and is of English and Spanish descent. Her father, Dennis Alan Taylor, is an Argentine of Scottish heritage. He was an international banker who changed careers to become a professional racer in offshore powerboat racing, where he won two Union Internationale Motonautique world championships. Taylor was also the director of a private jet hire company.

The family moved to Buenos Aires when Taylor-Joy was an infant, and she spoke mostly Spanish while growing up. Her father was awarded an MBE in the 1982 New Year Honours (for services to the British community in Buenos Aires) and an OBE in 1998 (for services to British trade with Argentina). She lived in Buenos Aires until age six, when the family moved to the Victoria area of London.

Taylor-Joy was traumatised by the move and refused to speak English for two years, believing this would force her parents to move the family back to Argentina. She attended the preparatory school Hill House in Chelsea and Queen's Gate School in South Kensington, with a stint at Northlands School in Argentina in between.

Taylor-Joy holds triple British, American, and Argentine citizenship.
